bullet shell earrings

They measure 3 1/2 inches long (including the earring hooks) and 1 1/2 inches wide.
 
To start these babies I grab my collection of spent .22 shells that I've collected over the years. I hammer the open ends until they are flat and drill a hole in each one. Once I have all the bullet shells ready, I form the jump rings and drop down connector pieces that the shells will hang from out of 16G wire. Next I saw, drill, file, sand and tumble the brass pendant piece. Lastly, I get to put all the pieces together, which is definitely my favorite part! All that's left to do now is add the 20G earring hooks that I pre-make out of brass or 14K gold filled wire (I'll let you decide) and ta-da another pair of BANGIN babes is born!
